Free Gear Kier Starmer and Victoria Sponge are distractions from the questions no-one asks.

Both the mainstream and social media are full of trivia about the privileges enjoyed by Sir Keir Starmer and Lady Victoria Starmer (née Alexander) since they moved to 10 Downing Street in July. This distracts attention from more important issues.
1. Working class background.
During the election campaign in June 2024 the Sky TV audience laughed when Starmer repeated his old assertion that
In November 2020 Starmer told ‘Desert Island Discs’ that his father worked 14-hour days as a toolmaker in a factory, coming home for an hour at 5pm "for his tea" before returning to work again in the evening.
And the Labour Leader made a similar statement to the TUC.
But Starmer’s father Rodney was not a shop-floor toolmaker but owned a factory in Surrey, as reported by Paul Knaggs in February 2022.
Both Keir Starmer’s parents were natives of Surrey. His paternal grandfather Gustavus Adolphus Starmer was born in Lincolnshire into a family of gamekeepers, moved to Surrey and worked as a gamekeeper for Sir Walpole Greenwell at Marden Park.
Keir Starmer’s mother, Josephine Anne Baker, was born in the small Surrey town of Woldingham, which is ranked second in a 2008 list of the "Top Ten Richest Suburbs in Britain".
Growing up in Surrey, Keir Starmer went to Reigate Grammar School. After the school converted to Independent fee-paying status in 1976 existing pupils had their fees paid by the local council, so from age 14 to 18 Keir experienced a public school education at rate-payers’ expense.
2. The Trilateral Commission and Security connections.
The fact that Keir Starmer was a member of the Trilateral Commission for several years from 2017 is not a secret. In February 2020 Paul Knaggs wrote that
“it should … be very concerning when we find that the Labour Party Leader Sir Keir Starmer is a member of an organisation that believes we the people have too much freedom. Too much democracy. An organisation that believes the working class and the masses should be removed from any democratic process leaving the issues of democracy and government to the elite, the establishment.”
In June 2020 Matt Kennard wrote “Five questions for new Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer about his UK and US national security establishment links”.
And Matt Kennard followed this in July 2023 with “Starmer served on the Trilateral Commission alongside two former heads of the CIA without telling [then Labour Party Leader] Jeremy Corbyn.”
It was headline news when Starmer was asked at Davos whether he preferred Westminster or Davos, but I don’t recall any mainstream journalist questioning his Trilateral Commission membership and Deep State connections.
On 19 February 2025 Iain Davis wrote that, according to Patrick Wood (“the world’s leading expert on the Trilateral Commission”), members like Starmer currently in public office are listed as ‘former’ members, but unless he resigns from the Commission he will remain in a special section of its membership. So when he leaves public office he will be restored to the regular list.
3. Victoria Alexander’s Jewish family in London and Tel Aviv.
Victoria Alexander was born in 1973 and raised in North London. Her father Bernard Alexander, born in London in 1929, was a lecturer and accountant from a Polish-Jewish background; her mother, who died in 2020, had converted to Judaism and was a community doctor.
She studied law at Cardiff University in Wales where she was head of the student union. She also volunteered in Labour’s campaign headquarters under Tony Blair before becoming a solicitor in a law firm. After that, she joined the NHS.
On 4th April 2020 The Times of Israel wrote:
“After Corbyn, UK Labour elects Keir Starmer, Zionist with Jewish wife, as leader. New opposition chief immediately apologizes to Jews for anti-Semitism in ranks, vows to ‘tear out this poison’; his wife comes from a Jewish family, has relatives in Tel Aviv.”
In November 2020 Starmer’s appearance on ‘Desert Island Discs’ was reported in the Jewish Chronicle:
“Sir Keir spoke further about his wife Victoria’s Jewish family … ‘My wife’s father is Jewish - they came from Poland - and my wife’s mother converted when they got married.. We observe some of the practices, for example Friday night prayers, occasionally with my wife’s father – her mum sadly passed away earlier this year.’ He then added: ‘My wife in particular wants our children to know the faith of her family.’
Bernard Alexander was born in London in 1929. When Starmer says that "their family came over from Poland" he is being disingenuous. Bernard's father (Victoria's grandfather) Avraham Alexander died in Hackney in 1940 and his brother Joe in Manchester in 1948. They changed their surname to Alexander from Zolkind, and there is nothing on the Yad Vashem database to indicate that any relatives remaining in Poland died in the Holocaust.
A first cousin of Victoria Alexander was born in England and settled in Tel Aviv after marrying her Israeli husband. They had four children. Starmer told The Times of Israel in 2020 that he had never been to Israel but “we’re in regular contact with them and we’ve got various visits planned, basically to take our kids for the first time.”
In September 2022 Tatler examined “Sir Keir’s secret weapon, Victoria Starmer”:
“We do know that his wife, originally from Poland [sic], is Jewish, and that the couple's children are being raised in the Jewish faith. Speaking to the Jewish Chronicle in March 2021, the Labour leader opened up about his wife's faith, saying: 'As you probably know my wife’s family is Jewish. On her father’s side, there are bar mitzvahs, synagogues — there’s all the traditions.’ He also spoke about their Friday night dinner tradition, which sees his wife's family invited to their Camden home for supper…”
Victoria's father lives nearby in London but is aged 95, and it's not clear who else the Jewish family are in London. The Starmers’ son was 13 in 2022 and there has been no mention of a bar mitzvah.
Days after the incursion of Hamas fighters into Israel on 7th October 2023 the Palestinian wife of then Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf' was “'living in a nightmare' as her parents remain trapped in Gaza while Israel pounds the region after Hamas' attacks.”
It’s now almost a year into the ongoing genocide in Gaza, with escalating settler violence in the West Bank and a hot war between Israel and its neighbours. World War III is closer than at any time since 1962, and deranged Zionist politicians have spoken about their final solution: the “Samson Option”, where Israel uses its arsenal of nuclear weapons to start a war which would destroy the whole world.
Many thousands of Jewish Israelis have emigrated, while some from border areas are internally displaced. But to my knowledge no journalist has asked after Victoria Alexander’s extended family in Tel Aviv.
Reports about Victoria Alexander mention that she attends the Liberal Jewish Synagogue in St John’s Wood, London. Rabbi David Goldberg joined this synagogue in 1975 and was senior Rabbi there from 1986 until his retirement in 2004.
Goldberg "was the first Anglo-Jewish commentator to call for recognition of legitimate Palestinian rights, in an article in the Times in 1978, and was the first rabbi to initiate gatherings of Jews, Christians and Muslims at Regent’s Park mosque" and in 1999 he was awarded the gold medal of the International Council of Christians and Jews.

My mother, Nora Seymour, was active in a different Liberal Jewish Synagogue and involved for many years in interfaith dialogue, so she knew Rabbi Goldberg. Both were signatories to an Open Letter organised by British Friends of Peace Now and published in the Jewish Chronicle on 14th November 1997:
"Dear Mr Netanyahu, This month commemorates the second anniversary of the death of Yitzhak Rabin. We remember his achievements for peace between Israelis and Palestinians. We remember the manner of his passing. You have often invoked his memory - but we deeply regret that you have not invoked his message.
In your year as Prime Minister, you have presided over a rising tide of violence against those who profess different views. You have reinterpreted the Oslo Accords in such a way that the peace process has been emptied of all meaning. Your rejectionism has strengthened the hand of the peace-wreckers amongst the Palestinians.
Even those who did not vote for you hoped that you would provide 'peace with security" as you had promised. Today, as we approach the fiftieth anniversary of Israel's existence, there is neither peace nor security. We support your demand for total security, but we do not see this as the sole issue in the conflict. Along with a majority of Israeli citizens, we fail to understand in what way the expansion of existing settlements will further the peace process.
Why are you so reticent to negotiate with those Palestinians who desire peace and condemn terrorism? Is it because deep down you wish to retain the Territories at all costs? Land with conflict rather than peace with hope? We call upon you to put a halt to actions which undermine the peace process and to return to the original spirit of the Oslo Accords.
As Jews who care deeply for Israel's well-being, we believe we speak for a majority of British Jews who have not forgotten Rabin's wise leadership of the Jewish people."
In his book "This is Not the Way: Jews, Judaism and the State of Israel", Faber & Faber, 2012, Rabbi David Goldberg has a chapter on "Anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism".
Wait until Israel finds out its arsenal of nuclear weapon is a total fraud. The Samson Option is going to be huge disappointment. Nuclear power is real but the rest of it is pure HG Wells science fiction.
